The super-soft wool Genevieve has selected for the Laide is locally sourced and spun by a celebrated Aberdeenshire mill. The secret to its luxurious handle is the fact it comes from the ‘first clip’ of the lamb – an initial shear known for its unrivalled softness. Finer and more expensive, it produces a garment of exceptionally high quality without compromising on its authentic Shetland character. Once knitted, it’s then brushed using the teasel thistle – a rarely-used specialist technique that further enhances the sumptuously soft hand-feel.

THE DETAILS
Genevieve creates the Laide’s dramatic burgundy hue through a carefully-balanced and truly unique colour melange. Capturing the richness of a burgundy wine, it blends ruby, spiced plum and claret red with hints of charcoal grey.
