Thyme Sheep Seats
A reflection of our history and love of the land.
ABOUT OUR SHEEP
The Cotswolds have been intrinsically linked to sheep and their wool since Roman times. The magnificent ancient manor houses, farms and villages which sculpt the Cotswold landscape were built with the extraordinary wealth created by the wool trade. Sheep have grazed our water meadows and pastures at Thyme for many centuries.
Our Thyme Sheep Seats are a reflection of this history and our heritage. Each one takes inspiration from the two breeds which call the estate their home: the hardy Black Welsh Mountain and the regal Cotswold Lion.
Inspired by history
Our sheep seats were conceived and designed by our Founder Caryn Hibbert. The idea was born during the sympathetic restoration of our barns when the lambing sheds were converted into what is now fittingly called the Baa Bar.
“The restoration of Thyme has always been guided by our determination to be true to the history of the buildings and maintain the natural link to the land. I was inspired to design our sheep seats as a way of honouring the link between the original farm and its new life as a cocktail bar.”
— Caryn Hibbert
THE FLEECES
We offer five colours of fleece:
White // Black // Honey // Brown // Grey
Fleeces are seasonal and individually sourced and so time scales can vary. The faces are cast and finished in a choice of Bronze, Silver or Matte Black.
Our sheep are individually cast which results in slight variations in design and finish and means that each sheep is unique. The larger Cotswolds have a finer texture to their faces than the smaller Welsh Blacks.
THE logistics
Once you have chosen the specifications of your sheep, we will send you a final quote.
The lead time will be dictated by the specifics of your order. While we aim to make and deliver your order within 3 months (often much quicker), it may take longer.
We are able to organise delivery to wherever you are in the world and use two trusted couriers, one for UK deliveries and another for international deliveries.
